Artificial intelligence (AI) is in a perpetual state of evolution, where what’s true one day may be outdated the next. As the use of AI technologies becomes more democratized, there exists a notable disparity between the reality of AI and public perception—it is not akin to magic. Furthermore, while AI serves as a potent instrument, its misuse can lead down precarious paths. Acquiring a basic understanding of AI’s technical foundations can be useful to enhance practical applications of the everyday user and promote enduring ethical reflections. For these reasons, this module has 3 general dimensions: an introduction to the back-office technology behind AI, practical applications, and ethical considerations.
